The 3 Days Akagera Wildlife Safari Rwanda is an Exclusive Adventurous Safari that takes you for an exploration of Rwanda’s largest National park, Your safari will begin with a pick up from Kigali International Airport and transfer to Akagera National Park where you will have an opportunity to participate in various activities including game drives, boat cruises, nature walks among others. Akagera National Park is one of the Oldest National Parks on the African Continent and the largest National park in Rwanda. The park was garzetted as a National Park in 1934 and it covers an area of 1,122sqkm. The park boosts of over 13,500 large mammals including the members of the Big 5 like Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Rhinoceros and Buffaloes.

Other mammals include Rothschild giraffes, Bruchell’s zebras, Antelopes, Waterbucks, Hippopotamus, Impalas, Bohor reedbucks, oribis, klipspringer, cape eland, bush babies, Topis, hartebeests, hyenas, warthogs, duikers, crocodile among others. It also has a variety of bird species amounting to over 500 species, these include the suaza shrike, raptors great snipe bird, the shoebill stork, Senegal lapwing, squaco herons, giant kingfishers, grey crowned crane, African darter, long-toes and water knee birds, papyrus gonolek, hammerkops, cattle egret and fun-tailed widow bird among others.

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali International Airport or your Hotel – Transfer to Akagera National Park – Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema

Your 3 Days Akagera Wildlife Safari Rwanda will begin with a pick up from Kigali International Airport or your Hotel by our Professional Driver Guide from Paradise Adventure Vacations who will meet and greet you, he will then brief you about your entire journey and thereafter transfer you to Akagera National Park where you will have rest and relaxation from your long journey as you await a delicious lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will embark on a Launch Cruise on Lake Ihema which will give you sights of different wildlife like Hippos, Crocodiles, Elephants, Antelopes, zebras and also various bird species like flycatchers, sunbirds, White tailed blue monad, Cardinal Woodpecker and weavers, African Harrier Hawk, grey crowned cranes among others. Later you will return back to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Akagera National Park – Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Nature Walk – Night Game drive

On waking up, you will start your day 2 with a heavy delicious breakfast and thereafter head out for an early morning Game drive through the different trails of the park, here you will be amazed by the different mammal species for example elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Bruchell’s zebras, Antelopes, Waterbucks, Impalas, Bohor reedbucks, Topis, cape eland, warthogs, duikers and if lucky enough you may spot lions and rhinos. You will return to your lodge for a hearty lunch and relaxation and then later stretch your legs with a smooth Nature walk with an armed park ranger.

During this walk, you will meet up close with different mammal species and also for the bird lovers, you will encounter different species like African Harrier Hawk, grey crowned cranes, suaza shrike, raptors great snipe bird, the shoebill stork, Senegal lapwing, squaco herons, giant kingfishers, African darter among others. You will return to your lodge and prepare for a night game drive with an armed park ranger and spotlight torches. These lights will help you spot nocturnals hunting and feeding on their prey for example leopards, lions, bush babies, Topis, hyenas and Hippos, elephants, grazing on short grass. You will later return back to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali International Airport or your Hotel with a stopover at Genocide Memorial Site

After a lovely breakfast on the final day of your 3 Days Akagera Wildlife Safari Rwanda, you will check out of the lodge and drive to Kigali International Airport. You will make an enroute stopover at the Genocide Memorial Site where you will learn about the history of The Rwandan genocide which occurred between 7 April and 15 July 1994 during the Rwandan Civil War.

During this period of around 100 days, over 800,000 members of the Tutsi minority ethnic group as well as some moderate Hutu and Twa were brutally slaughtered by armed Hutu militias. You will have lunch and also enjoy a City Tour of Rwanda’s Capital City Kigali including a visit to the Museum as you drive to your destination.
