7 Days Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Fly-in Safari  – Gorilla and chimpanzee experience will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and driving through Ishasha sector famous for its climbing lions en route to main Queen Elizabeth National Park and also covering Chimpanzee experience in Kibale park. This trip enables you to fly to Bwindi impenetrable forest and later transfer to Queen NPK for game viewing and also take a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel and then Kibale for chimpanzee tracking or Habituation.

 

Day 1: Morning Flight To Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park 

Our guide will pick you up from your Hotel and transfer you to Entebbe Airport for your flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park landing at either Kihihi (For the north and Eastern parts of Bwindi NP) or Kisoro Airstrip (For the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On arrival, your safari guide/vehicle will transfer you by road to your respective dinner and overnight Lodge.

Depending on the availability of the flight you might fly in the morning or in the afternoon. Morning flights depart Entebbe for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park at 7:45 am, here check-in is at 6:15 am while afternoon flights depart Entebbe at 12:30 pm and her check-in is at 11:am. For the southern part of Bwindi NP, there is only one morning flight that departs Entebbe to Kisoro Airstrip daily at 7:45 am. This is because of the strong winds in this region. Internal flights to Bwindi NP take up to one and a half hours depending on the routing of the day.

Day 2: Moring Gorilla Trekking Experience And Batwa Community Encounter In Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Gorilla Trekking Experience

7 Days Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee, Today we will have the amazing opportunity to observe the gorgeous scenery of Uganda’s tropical rainforest and experience a breathtaking encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas. Today’s schedule will take us through the impenetrable Jungle of Bwindi National Park, which was gazetted as a National Park in 1991 and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

Have early breakfast, pick your packed lunch from the lodge, carry enough drinking water and transfer to the briefing point by 7.30am. While here, you will carry out registration and join others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the precautions and guidelines of the gorilla trekking activity. You will then be assigned a gorilla group, meet the ranger guide and start the trek into the forest. The forest is usually wet and muddy with steep slopes.

However, the sounds and sights of different birds and butterfly species offer a variety of form and color that satisfy you with a rare sort of happiness! The gorillas are located in different places across the forest and therefore the time taken to find one group varies and cannot be estimated before. Once you reached them, you are allowed to stay for one hour to observe these gentle giants, after which you return to meet the driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight. Top Hint: There is a lot of fauna and flora in the forest. Be ready to ask the guide any questions about endemic species in the park. Also ensure that you take photos during the gorilla trek.

Day 3: Transfer To Queen Elizabeth Through The Ishasha Sector-7 Days Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee

Today we will drive through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth known as Ishasha, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Ishasha is a remote and beautiful extension of Queen Elizabeth National Park. There is an opportunity to view Buffaloes, Topi, Hippos, and many more wildlife species.

You will have a game drive through this beautiful park which will provide opportunities to see Spotted Hyena, Buffalo, Uganda Kobs, Defassa Waterbucks, Elephant, Leopard (if lucky), antelopes, Lions, and several bird species. Thereafter transfer to your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National park.

Day 4: Game Drive And A Boat Cruise Along The Kazinga Channel

We start with an extensive early morning game drive in the Park while pursuing the most wildlife congested tracks including the Kasenyi Track. Expect to see; Elephants, Buffalos, Lions, Bushbucks, Kobs, the rare Giant forest hogs, Hyenas, and Waterbucks. Return and have breakfast at your accommodation.

In the afternoon we’ll take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel, an experience not to miss!! You will appreciate the scores of Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles close to the waterside as well as if lucky, the rare Leopard prowling. There is a variety of bird species for example Pelicans, Cormorants, egrets, herons, and Jacana among others. We then return to our accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer To Kibale  Forest National Park-7 Days Uganda Gorilla And Chimpanzee

After your very early morning breakfast drive south via Kasese. Have a stopover at the Equator for some pictures, the drive-through verdant countryside, and past traditional homesteads and farms to Fort Portal. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. The town named after a British Special Commissioner for Uganda Sir. Gerald Portal, whose statue graces the main road of the town,. Kibale Forest National Park is one of Africa’s greatest tropical rainforests and is home to a number of forest wildlife, most notably 13 species of primates including chimpanzees, and 375 species of birds. We traverse through Ugandan traditional Villages where you see people in gardens nurturing their traditional crops such as millet, sorghum, beans, and maize.

Keep eyes open for some bird species along the roads such as Long-Crested Eagles, Double-Toothed Barbet, Black-headed Gonolek, Fan-tailed Widowbird, sunbirds, and weavers as we travel. Check in and have an evening of relaxing

Day 6: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Tracking And Bigodi Swamp Sanctuary.

After breakfast, we visit Kibale Forest National Park. Which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, our closest relative. Kibale 1,450 Chimpanzees represent Uganda’s largest population of this endangered primate. Kibale is also home to the rare I’Hoest’s monkey. Other primates include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Red-tailed monkey, and Olive baboon to mention but a few.

So you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and many others. After lunch, we explore the Crater Lake region, which has many crater lakes or community walk to explore more about the well-being of the locals in the region

Day 7: Morning / Afternoon Flight To Entebbe Airport
