Best Time To Visit – Uganda

The best time to visit Uganda is from June to August and December to February, which are the Dry seasons. Wildlife viewing is at its peak then. Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Early Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise – Hike To The Top Of The Falls – Optional Night Game Drive

Wake up for an early morning breakfast, prepare yourself for another exciting encounter. Day 2 of your 3 Days Murchison falls safari Uganda starts with an early morning game drive through different trails of the park like Albert trail, buligi trail and the Victoria trail. Here, you will meet eye to eye with different mammal species like Bufaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, bush barks, giraffes among others, return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. Later in the afternoon, embark on an afternoon boat cruise upstream to the bottom of the falls, while on the cruise, you will see the Nile crocodiles resting on the shores, herds of hippos while in water, bird species like the black bee eater, grey crowned crane, marabou stork and many others. After the cruise, You will then hike to the Top of the falls where you witness the strength of the magnificent Murchison falls as it roars and pours itself out through a narrow 8m gorge. While here, you will enjoy the soft splashes as it feels like little drizzles falling on your face from heaven. You will then return back to your lodge for relaxation as you await your dinner and an overnight.

3 Days Uganda Gorilla Fly-in Safari

This 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Fly-In Safari, you will take a 1-hour flight from Entebbe to southwestern Uganda to visit Bwindi National Park, the home of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will use scheduled flights that land at either Kihihi Airstrips. The safari is ideal for those who have less time but want to track the gorillas in Uganda, since you avoid the 8 to 9hrs drive from Entebbe to Bwindi.

Bwindi impenetrable national park is one of those parks with a remarkable diversity, carpeting the margin of the Albertine rift valley for thousands of years. The word “Bwindi” means “darkness”. Because of the intact forested perfections that allow very little light to pass through them and  at the same time blanketed by mist. The park hosts several other species with their counts estimated at 310 butterflies, 200 trees, 51 reptiles, 88 moths, 120 mammals and 350 bird species. Some of such species include; forest elephants, antelopes among others.

 

Day 1:  Scheduled Flight To Kihihi And Into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park By Road Transfer – Optional Afternoon Activities – Dinner And Overnight @ Buhome Lodge

Our guide will pick you and transfer you to Entebbe Airport for your internal flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park landing at Kihihi  or Kisoro Airstrip Upon landing, our guide/vehicle will transfer you by road to your respective overnight Lodge. You may choose to fly in the morning or in the afternoon. Morning flights depart Entebbe for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park at 7:45am while afternoon flights depart Entebbe at 12:30pm. For the southern part of Bwindi NP, there is only one morning flight that departs Entebbe to Kisoro Airstrip daily at 7:45am. This is because of the strong winds in this region. Internal flights to Bwindi NP take up to one and half hours depending on the routing of the day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking In The Morning – Batwa Community Encounter – Optional Afternoon Activities – Dinner And Overnight @ Buhoma Lodge
Gorilla Trekking In The Morning

After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing from the Uganda wildlife Authority ranger guides who will allocate you a gorilla family group you will trek that day. Once you have your group confirmed 8 people, the 2 ranger guides will lead you into the thick impenetrable forest to start your search for the endangered rare species of Mountain Gorillas. The gorilla search always continues from the place where they were last seen the previous day. Upon reaching the area where these famous species are, you will only be allowed to interact with them for only one hour and you should always keep maximum silence while with these Gorillas. You are allowed to take photographs and so on.

Batwa Community Encounter

In the evening, you may go for community walks in the nearby Batwa community, where you will be entertained and given tales of their unique culture.

Gorilla tracking can sometimes be strenuous depending on the trek that day which is normally determined by weather and the movement of the gorillas in the forest but given the fact it is very well organized activity you have 99% chances of seeing the gorillas on your trek. The trek is guided by advanced trackers who monitor the Gorilla movements all day in the forest with this they will know where they nested for the last night and that’s where you start from looking for them. The 2 ranger guides will lead you all through the trek clearing trails, creating new trails and sharing with you information about the mountain gorillas and Bwindi forest. After the trek you will retrieve back to the starting point to pick your certificates as a sign of successful tracking of mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

From here you transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight or to the airport for your departure.
