The 6 Days Ngorongoro and Serengeti Safari is a carefully designed package that takes you to Tanzania’s renowned Safari destinations, this package will give you an experience with the Big 5 mammals as well as an experience of the Wildebeest migration. Ngorongoro Conservation Area is located in the Northern part of Tanzania on the Eastern Great Rift Valley Arm which is managed by Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. The Conservation area was officially established in 1959 and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 and it is part of the Serengeti Ecosystem. Ngorongoro’s main attraction is the Ngorongoro Crater which is the World’s largest intact and unfilled Volcanic Caldera with over 25,000 mammals including wildebeests, hippos, warthogs, hyenas, zebras, elands, gazelles, and the Big 5 mammal species which are lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos as well as buffaloes and over 100 bird species co-existing with the Semi-nomadic Maasai people.

Serengeti National Park is located in the Northern region of Tanzania and it was established in 1952. The park covers an area of 14763sqkm making it home to over 70 mammal species like  dik-dik, Oryx, greater Kudu, Hyenas, Hippos, bushbuck, Jackals, giraffes, Janet cats, Baboons, Giraffes, elands, spring hare, porcupine, warthog, Hyraxes, vervet monkeys, Colobus monkeys, patas monkeys, and mongooses and also Africa’s Big 5 mammals which are lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and Rhinos. Serengeti National park also boosts of over 500 bird species including Grey-Breasted spur fowl, Fischer’s lovebird, Rufous-tailed weaver, Usambiro barbet, Grey-crested helmet-shrike, Kori Bustard, Red-capped robin-chat, Secretary bird, Verreaux’s eagle, Yellow-throated sand grouse among others. Serengeti National Park is well known for its annual Wildebeest Migration of over 1,500,000 and 250,000 Zebras which occur between the months of July and August.

 

Day 1: Arrival and Pick up from Arusha – Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater – Afternoon Game drive

The 6 Days Ngorongoro and Serengeti Safari will begin with a pick up from Arusha by our Professional driver guide from Paradise Adventure Vacations who will meet and greet you, he will brief you about your safari and thereafter transfer you to Ngorongoro Crater. This drive will give you stunning views of the rolling hills, forest galleries as well as the coffee plantations. Upon arrival, you will check in for your lunch and then later go on an afternoon game drive around the Crater which is not only called Africa’s Eden but also the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World, a visit to the crater is a main draw card for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor is dotted with watering holes, which shelters 25,000 animals. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhinos then return to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Later you will return to your lodge for a freshly prepared dinner and have an overnight.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Rim Walk

On your day 2 of the 6 Days Ngorongoro and Serengeti Safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast and your entire morning will be spent resting and relaxing. Later in the afternoon, you will go on a guided walk along the top of the Crater wall. This part of the Crater is very beautiful and densely forested with Tropical trees, plants and creepers. The Crater Rim walk will take you along the picturesque rim offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape and various wildlife species. Later you will return to your lodge for your dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Transfer to Serengeti National Park – Visit Olduvai Gorge

Wake up early morning on your day 3 of the Safari and have breakfast. You will thereafter descend into the Crater floor which is about 260sqkm with a depth of over 2000 feet. This 5 hours game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of wildlife action which has not to be missed therefore keep your Cameras ready. The African elephant, Black rhino, buffalos, Hippos, Cheetahs, Hyenas, and Lions are found in plenty. You will later begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater and then transfer to Serengeti National Park which is about 2 hours drive. You will arrive in the afternoon with an enroute game drive to your lodge, you will have a delicious lunch and later embark on a drive to Olduvai Gorge which is believed to be the cradle of mankind. While here, you will encounter and learn about the fossils, stone tools and the skeletons of many extinct animals excavated in the gorge and then return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Full day Game drive

Your day 4 of the 6 Days Ngorongoro and Serengeti Safari will start with a delicious morning breakfast and thereafter you will proceed for a full day game drive in the land of endless plains. You will drive through the classic savannah dotted with acacia and filled with plenty of wildlife including the Big 5 mammals which are lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos. Later you will return for your dinner and an overnight.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Full day Game Drive

Day 5 of the 6 Days Ngorongoro and Serengeti Safari will begin with a delicious morning breakfast and thereafter head back for another full day of encountering Africa’s Big Game. This day of your Safari will give you a great opportunity to search for more of the Wildlife that you failed to spot on your previous game drive.

Day 6: Drive back to Arusha  

Your final day of the 6 Days Ngorongoro and Serengeti Safari will start with a finger-licking breakfast and thereafter you will check out of your lodge and drive back to Arusha with an enroute game drive as you exit the park. You will arrive in the afternoon and have lunch then catch your flight back home.

Paradise Adventure Vacations Ltd offering all-wheel drive safari vehicles suitable for off-road driving, which enable travelers to discover the magical areas of East Africa in a pleasant and reliable manner.

Our fleet consists of 4×4 Toyota Land cruisers with a hinged roof and skylights above the front seats. The hinged roof offers two main advantages: it provides shade without restricting the view, so that you can enjoy your safari even in the very sunny hours of the day. It also allows a 360-degree all-round view.
