Twin Lakes Safari Lodge

Twin Lake Safari Lodge is a rustic and intimate lodge set in the beautiful surroundings of the Bunyaruguru great crater field in Uganda. The lodge offers a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The lodge is convenient for safari adventure and relaxation. Since it’s in the perfect base for tourists and travellers who want to explore and discover the park.

 

Twin lakes safari lodge sits on the edge of an escarpment just adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda with great views of savannah plains. The Lodge is 270m above the plains, the breath taking views of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lakes Edward and George, the Rwenzori Mountain ranges, Sunrise and Sunset is simply amazing at the Lodge.

Because of its location the colonial Administration chose this hill as the seat for some government departments like the Fisheries and public works. The structure currently hosting the reception. And offices  the original residential house built for the Provincial Commissioner for Fisheries.  Built in 1948. Working under the advice and guidance of competent architects this historical building preserved and the Lodge built around it.

The Provincial Fisheries Officer equipped with a speed boat to help patrol activities on lakes Edward, George and Kazinga Channel. After the site abandoned this boat suffered major looting of essential parts and was thrown away into the bush. The management of the Lodge brought it back into the courtyard as a historic relic of this place. It is intended to get experts to advise on the possibility of refurbishing this boat. Next to the main house was an aquarium that the officers used for research.  This too was abandoned and totally looted. Management is in the process of restoring it.

 

Accommodation

The lodge perched on the edge of the escarpment adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Its exclusive position, affords it some of the most spectacular views.

We can accommodate up to twenty two guests in nine spacious cottages including a family cottage. Our cottages have been designed with a feel of the contemporary African culture in mind, a perfect blend of design and comfort with an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and a hot shower and spacious tub.

Each cottage has a private shaded veranda with spectacular views of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kazinga Channel, Lakes George and Edward and the Rwenzori Mountain Ranges.

 

Restaurant and Bar

The Lodge has a uniquely designed restaurant to give a perfect environment as you enjoy your meals. Our Restaurant serves a choice of international and local cuisine. Each dish  flavored with delicate spices and flavors giving mouthwatering meals to our guests.

Our bar  stocked with various kinds of drinks that to your relaxation.

 

Activities

Our guests can participate in a number of activities such as; Swimming, There is nothing better than a relaxing swim after a busy day. It is a versatile activity that helps with mental, physical, and social benefits.

Guided nature walks, you can do nature walks in different stunning routes which leads to various crater lakes.

Game Drives, Queen Elizabeth National Park considered to be one of Uganda’s most varied and most beautiful protected areas. Queen, affectionately known, is home to two of Africa’s big cats, the majestic lion and the elusive leopard. You also sight primates and birdlife.

Boat cruise on Kazinga channel. One of the most impressive activity done in the park upon your comfortable stay at Twin Lakes Lodge. You can enjoy astonishing views of hippos, crocodiles, water birds like egrets, kingfisher etc.

Traditional Dance, our guests can decide to participate in the traditional dance presented by the local natives.
