The Lodge is situated high on the rim of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. With seemingly endless views of one of Africa’s most iconic wilderness destinations, the Masai Mara. Perched upon the Oloololo Escarpment 1,000ft above the plains of the Mara below. The name of the lodge was inspired by the Swahili word. Angama Mara Lodge offers two separate camps, each with 15 spacious tented suites. Designed to maximize comfort and luxury while preserving the authentic safari experience. Game Drives

Walking Safari
Led by your expert Guide and an Askari (a member of the security team), who have incredible knowledge of the terrain, flora and fauna of this little oasis, on foot is an enchanting way to experience a safari. Follow animal pathways and tracks, get close to the resident eland, zebra and giraffe and observe the smaller inhabitants like ant lions and dung beetles up close. It can be an easy walk, ideal for families, or you can explore for longer if that suits your mood. It’s advisable to set out earlier, before the heat builds up, allowing you to immerse yourself in Amboseli’s distinctive ecosystem at a relaxed pace before you return to the lodge for breakfast.
Beading Studio
Alongside the Safari Shop, you’ll find the Beading Studio, where this talented group of Maasai women creates beautiful beadwork, whether for jewellery or a dash of beads on clothing. It is a merriment of activity, laughter and song as hands bead busily away and the walls are decorated with traditional necklaces of different celebrations.
