Accommodation and Lodges in Kidepo: Apoka, the beautiful lodge at in the heart of the park, a savannah landscape extends far beyond outlined by distant mountain ranges. The rooms at Apoka have been built with comfort in mind. And everything is handmade by local craftsmen, everything is large and capacious. Furthermore, the rooms have natural canvas walls and an endless view across the savannah. When you step outside on your private veranda you have your own outdoor stone bathtub.

Kidepo Savannah Lodge (Mid-range)

Being just 500 meters away from Kalokudo gate, this lodge is literally on a stone’s throw from the beautiful Kidepo National Park. It is apparent that the architecture is inspired by its savannah surroundings, Accommodation and Lodges in Kidepo, the grasslands, rocky outcrops. And the Karamajong tribe with their typical manyattas and colorful blankets. Each of the spacious tents has a private veranda overlooking the mighty savannah. However, the views into the park are magnificent with an occasional herd of elephants or buffaloes passing by. Don’t forget to take a look at the sky on a clear night. As you are sipping a glass of wine after your dinner on the wooden restaurant lounging deck. Lastly, you might just witness the Milky Way galaxy and hear the roaring of lions in the distance!

UWA Banda’s (Budget)

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) provides some basic, but nice bandas in the park. The bandas have recently been renovated. And offer simple non self-contained and self-contained accommodation with cold shower. Because the banda’s are located in the heart of the parc you have lots of wildlife wandering around your rooms. It’s the perfect hideout to start your game drives from. You’d however better bring your own food as food services are rather poor.

Bush Camping in the middle of the park (Budget)

We only recommend camping when the location is adding something extra. This is the case in Kidepo Valley N.P. Bush camping is the most spectacular way of visiting Kidepo Valley N.P. Because the 2 campsites are both located on a hill you have a wonderful view over the park. The campsites are often be visited by wildlife, including a lion. There is a ranger with you 24 hours a day to keep you safe. Paradise Adventure Vacations can provide tents and mattresses + as well as cooking equipment, as there are no restaurants.

MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK LODGES

Bakers Lodge (High-end)

Situated on the South Bank of the mighty Nile River which certainly transects Murchison Falls National Park this intimate.  Safari styled lodge is set within a large private area that has been cleared of all the dense undergrowth. To reveal beautifully trimmed grassed areas, large shady trees and wetland areas hosting abundant birdlife along the water’s edge. The views onto the river are vast and magnificent with islands hosting nesting egret birds, elephants bathing, and pods of hippos regularly viewed. 10 large, individual riverside thatched individual cottages with en suite bathrooms offering flush toilets.  Warm solar showers and some rooms with bath-tubs.  Finally, all cottages have uninterrupted river views and there is a swimming pool too.

This might not be the most comfortable option, but it actually might be the most beautiful and spectacular option. When you go for bush camping on the delta of Murchison Falls, you are sure to have the most beautiful part of the park all for yourself. Giraffe, Accommodation and Lodges in Kidepo, buffalo, jackal, and lion will be just around you, so there will be a ranger with you to take care of you. It will just be you, your ranger and your igloo tent, so be aware that there will not be any toilet or shower facilities (It all has to be done in the bush). It is situated on the banks of Lake Albert in the Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve. The main lodge with pool and thatch cabanas faces Lake Albert with magnificent views of the Blue Congo Mountains to the West. The restaurant serves delicious meals that celebrate fresh and local produce, to be enjoyed from the restaurant veranda. Bush Lodge (Mid-range)

Just outside Queen Elizabeth National Park and conveniently situated for wildlife viewing and Kyambura chimpanzee tracking. Bush Lodge forms an excellent base for your safari. The small scale set up built along ecological principals and the unique setting where animals roam in and out the camp. Offers a unique opportunity to experience a safari as it once was in East Africa.

The lodge consists of 12 self-contained units spaciously placed amongst the indigenous bush. From your private veranda, you can certainly spot the hippos on the Kazinga Channel. This lodge also serves great meals. The bandas made from a fine combination of canvas and local materials and built to ensure the best views. Each room has its own private en suite bathroom with an eco-toilet and an outside shower.

Additionally the restaurant provides excellent food and friendly service. The sounds of hippo and hyena complement the magical starlit dinners. If you wish to upgrade your stay at Bush Lodge, you can consider choosing a self-contained safari tent.

 

Ishasha Wilderness Camp (High end)

Ishasha Wilderness Camp situated inside the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Ntungwe River and  an idyllic retreat for people who truly enjoy the wilderness. This exclusive camp offers quality accommodation and services in this unspool remote southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.  However, a central lounge/dining area, under a cool thatched roof provides a comfortable environment for meals and relaxing during the day. A shaded area beside the river offers al fresco dining and an evening ‘fireplace’ for guests to relax with sundowners and then share their day’s experience.
