Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla Trekking Experience and Batwa Community Dance Demonstration Experience
Day 3: Drive to Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel
Have an early breakfast before setting off on your adventure from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your 3 days Uganda gorilla trekking safari. A professional Uganda safari guide from Paradise Adventure Vacations will meet you for a transfer to the park. For the almost 550 km drive to Bwindi National Park, you will be driven in a 4×4 safari jeep on a fairly tarmacked road along the Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara-Kabale highway. Along the Kampala–Masaka highway, there will be a stopover at the Equator line in Kayabwe for a photo moment and geographical experiments on how water swirls in opposite directions in the Northern and Southern hemispheres at the Equator line.
Continuing to the southern hemisphere for your Uganda gorilla tour, you have lunch en route at Mbarara town. Driving further to western Uganda, the rolling terraced hills of the Kigezi highlands and the long-horned Ankole cattle are part of what will constitute your scenic drive. On arrival at your preferred accommodation, your driver-guide ensures check-in for dinner and a night’s rest at the hotel or lodge. This will mark the end of your first-day gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi.

Today will be the highlight of our safari as you wake up very early for a quick breakfast before transferring to the park headquarters, where you will meet the park ranger guides who will brief you about the gorilla trekking activity. You, together with other trekkers in groups of eight (8), will head out into the forest by 8 a.m. and begin the search for these forest gentle Giants. the trek, which normally takes between 2 to 5 hours depending on where the gorillas will be, and your trekking speed, will offer you an opportunity to appreciate the rich vegetation covers and other wildlife species, including birds, small primates, insects, and different trees found in this very thick forest.
When you eventually encounter the habituated gorilla family, you will be allowed 1 hour in their presence as you observe them interact with each other, feed, play about, copulate, care for their young ones, and even get a chance to take photographs. At the end of this adventure, you will have a lunch break.
Later in the afternoon, go for a community visit where you will meet the Batwa people, who are considered to be Uganda’s shortest community. These very cheerful people will warmly welcome you and will demonstrate to you they are unique way of life and how they have been able for several years to survive on this Forest. You will be entertained with music, dance, and drama that will surely leave you with lasting memories of the hospitality of Ugandans. Later, you will return to your Lodge to freshen up, have dinner, and spend the night.
