Tarangire Osupuko Lodge is located about 116kms from Arusha Town, 36kms from Makuyuni (Tarangire National Park-Manyara Junction). 64kms from Kuro Airstrip, 86kms from Lake Manyara National Park and Manyara Airstrip respectively, 110kms from Arusha Airport and 5kms from Tarangire National Park’s main gate.
In the northern part of Tarangire National Park is the permanent Tarangire River which is also known as the lifeline of the park. Especially during the dry season when most of the region is completely dry.
It lies within the southwestern end of Tarangire national park within Burunge wildlife management area. A place where several mammals like elephants and giraffes are often seen crossing to the Tarangire river. They can be heard in the day as well as in the night. The landscape around features African bush, towering termite mounds and also baobab trees. Tarangire Osupuko Lodge offers good views of the park from the rooms’ long and wide windows. While also overlooking the beautiful outdoor swimming pool.

Tarangire Osupuko Lodge has a total of 12 rooms consisting of single, double, and triple rooms. These rooms are categorized as deluxe, executive, and standard suites. They reflect Maasai culture with a mix of modern comfort. The rooms are spacious with aesthetic decor, handcrafted furniture and also clean bathrooms with both hot and cold showers and also flushing toilets. The beds in each room are comfortable as noted by most of the lodge’s clients. Each room has a patio with chairs and also a table. The glass windows offer striking views of wildlife walking right in front and there is a private balcony with beautiful seating arrangements.
Tarangire Osupuko Lodge’s cottages were constructed in nicely refined Maasai huts that were designed with all the necessary en-suite facilities. They are constructed as round huts with pretty large windows. Offering magnificent views over the adjacent terrain of Tarangire National Park dotted with various baobab trees.
The lodge’s sleeping area in the cottages is linked to the washrooms in 2 round roofs having an open shower outside that faces the Park. Upon your arrival, you will be required to fill the lodge registration form that also includes the Company insurance.
All of the sleeping huts is 8 meters wide in diameter and then the washrooms are 4 meters in diameter. Tarangire Osupuko Lodge focuses on providing guests with the maximum space during their stay. All rooms have a spacious private verandah on which you will enjoy striking views of the sunrise over the park’s terrain. The sunset is on the side of the entrance which has a comfortable couch for 2 to 3 people. These can watch the sun setting behind the walls of the Great Rift Valley.
Tarangire National Park is one of the best destinations to enjoy a game drive. The park is beautiful and it is dotted with giant baobab trees and it as well as a significant number of elephants. At Tarangire, visitors will watch the elephants close to their feet as they explore the park. Other wildlife species here include wildebeests, zebra, impala, greater and lesser kudu, waterbuck, dik-dik, Cokes hartebeest, Thomsons gazelle, eland, giraffe, buffalo, reedbuck, warthog, hippopotamus, mongoose, rock hyrax, the fringe-eared oryx and the gerenuk among others.
The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise with a noticeable number of birds. Tree-climbing lions are fairly common here, other mammals. That roam the rolling acacia and baobab woodlands, riverine forests and the dense grasses include hyenas, jackals and wild dogs.
