Ololo Safari Lodge and Farm opened in 2016 by the Chapman family in Australia. This tranquil retreat found on the edge of Nairobi National Park offering a blend of luxury and wilderness adventures. It is an eco-friendly lodge on a 20-acre working commercial farm, a 45-minute drive from Nairobi. Guests can explore the surrounding bushlands and see different mammals. Since wildlife is right on the doorstep. The lodge surrounded by breathtaking views of the park and the Ngong hills westwards.

The rooms are unique, organic with a touch of rustic charm and modern comforts with attention to historical detail. Hence unforgettable adventure with a connection to nature.

Facilities and amenities at Ololo Safari Lodge and farm

Ololo Safari Lodge and Farm has many rooms uniquely designed to offer a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere after a long day of exploring Mother Nature. All rooms have a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a hot shower and a toilet.

The terrace room for 2 adults, the tower room a cozy retreat perched on a stone-clad tower, the stable cottage sleeps 6 guests. The 7 old stable rooms with a small pergola-covered terrace in front, the family wing (sleeps 5 people) Downstairs at the end of the Ronda Val living area with a separate sleeping space, three single beds for family, a bathroom, and a kitchen.

Tented cottages. The tented cottages at Ololo Safari Lodge and Farm are perfect for honeymooners, adventurous travelers, and nature lovers. Three tented cottages with a bush experience roofed with a traditional Makuti thatch roof, luxuriously blending the thrill of camping.

Each tent has wooden floors and canvas walls, furnished with large beds, ensuite bathrooms. And a private terrace that overlooks the national park.

Activities in Ololo safari lodge and farm

Game drives in Nairobi National Park

The lodge offers morning and night game drives, the morning game drive starts at 6 am, so choose either to have a morning breakfast or return for a late breakfast, the evening game drive starts around 4 pm and all these may be on a shared basis as some groups will join others.

 

Massage Treatments at Ololo

Massage by a masseuse in a spa room. Deep tissue massage, Swedish relaxing massage. Or hot stone massage therapy to help your body relax from a long day’s adventure.

 

Ololo Farm Tour.

Visit the farm that supplies most of the things used in the kitchen at Ololo Lodge. Things to see on the farm include vegetable gardens, mushroom houses, poultry houses with hens and ducks, and herds of cattle where milk  obtained.

 

Farm Kids Program

At Ololo farm, the kids can participate in activities like harvesting salads, feeding animals, milking cows, farm tours, learning about animal paddock rotation, crop cultivation, and many more as they are having fun.

Nairobi Safari Walk 

The Safari Walk s allows visitors to encounter a variety of species. Including the rare bongo, white rhino, albino zebra, big cats, antelopes, and primates. The area is home to around 150 species of local trees, offering a glimpse into Kenya’s rich botanical diversity. Perfect for nature enthusiasts and families, the Nairobi Safari Walk provides a nice experience on foot, to break up long days in the vehicle.

Paint & Sip

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or have no idea about art, get inspired by the beautiful landscapes and wildlife around you to create your masterpiece. A local artist who provides guidance, the activity should be booked a day prior. Your art piece will be put to dry and given to you to take home.

 

 Bird watching

The park has over 500 bird species, some of which can be spotted around Ololo. Likely spotted bird species include marabou stork, Abyssinian ground hornbill, and many more as you also get to explore the trees grown at Ololo farm.​

 

Games & Fitness 

Ololo Lodge offers games like rope skipping, bicycle riding for fitness, football, arrow targeting, badminton, and many more to make the safari more rewarding.
