Sangaiwe Tented Lodge is situated near the new Sangaiwe gate to Tarangire National Park offering stunning views over Lake Burunge. The Lodge offers luxury tented accommodation, great service as well as delicious food. Sangaiwe Tented Lodge sits across 40 acres of hillside overlooking the amazing Tarangire savannah. Which also has beautiful trees like the indigenous African hardwood.

Facilities and Amenities at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge

Sangaiwe Tented Lodge has 18 double and 2 family tents all on elevated wooden platforms, and 2-family cottages. All the rooms feature plush beds, ensuite bathrooms, dressing area and a private terrace to enjoy the stunning views. The lodge also has a pool that is so refreshing and if lucky. You can spot elephants and other mammals from there and also while hanging out at the comfort of your tent. Sangaiwe Tented Lodge extends a warm welcome to those visitors who are seeking adventure, peace, and a deep connection to Tanzania’s natural splendour.

Each of the rooms have a writing desk and ample space for luggage. There is a central dining area that is spacious with thatched roofing, it is open on the sides with a central fire space that separates it from the comfortable sitting area. The decor within has an African-theme depicting local art displayed on the light-yellow walls.

The food is served in a buffet-style and there is a small bar for guests to indulge in at their leisure during meal times. The 2 family suites are linked together by a common lounge area.

The Standard tents are set up as King Bedded or Twin Bedded. The beds are covered with a mosquito net and the linen beddings, whites and a colorful throw. There are also round, grass rugs on the wooden floors. All bathrooms are en-suite with a shower, toilet and vanity.

As you enter the park, you will realize without doubt the most impressive feature of Tarangire, the huge concentration of elephants. In addition to the enormous number of elephants, the park is chock-full of wildebeests, eland, impala, greater and lesser kudu, zebra, dik-dik, Cokes hartebeest, Thomsons gazelle, buffalo, reedbuck, waterbuck, giraffe, warthog, hippopotamus, mongoose and rock hyrax. Also, there are a couple of unusual antelope species and these are the fringe-eared oryx and the gerenuk. Black rhinos are seldomly seen here, however, is believed that a few individuals dwell in the more remote regions of the park.

The park is as well a birdwatcher’s paradise with a noticeable number of birds. Tree-climbing lions are fairly common here. Other mammal species that roam the rolling acacia, baobab woodlands, riverine forests and the dense grasses are the hyenas, wild dogs, and jackals.
