Our Safari Vehicles Seating Plan - 4x4 Safari Land Cruiser Extended

Safari Vehicles Seating Plan

All our Safari vehicles are Toyota Land-cruiser 4×4 with pop-up roofs. The vehicles are serviced and maintained to a very high standard before, during and after every safari. Paradise Adventure Vacations Ltd offering all-wheel drive safari vehicles suitable for off-road driving, which enable travelers to discover the magical areas of East Africa in a pleasant and reliable manner.

Our fleet consists of 4×4 Toyota Land cruisers with a hinged roof and skylights above the front seats. The hinged roof offers two main advantages: it provides shade without restricting the view, so that you can enjoy your safari even in the very sunny hours of the day. It also allows a 360-degree all-round view.

Our Vehicles Are Equipped With:

  • Adjustable comfortable seats
  • Electric refrigerator for drinks
  • High-performance shock absorbers
  • Tool & first aid kit
  • Adapters and battery chargers

Due to the difficult ground and road conditions inside and outside the national parks and wildlife reserves, a four-wheel drive vehicle is not only recommended, but also crucial for an eventful safari.

5 Days Fly-In Safari Uganda Gorillas and Chimps Habituation

Embark on an exceptional 5-Day Fly-In Safari Uganda Gorillas and Chimps Habituation, featuring gorilla and chimpanzee habituation experiences in Kibale Forest and Bwindi Forest. This unique journey offers you the opportunity to explore the fascinating lives of chimpanzees and mountain gorillas through immersive habituation experiences. Your adventure begins in Kibale Forest, where you will participate in a chimpanzee habituation safari. Unlike traditional trekking excursions, this experience allows you to spend extended periods observing and interacting with chimpanzee families as they engage in their daily activities.

Join expert guides and researchers on a captivating 5-day fly-in safari in Uganda, focusing on gorilla and chimpanzee habituation. You will witness fascinating behaviors, from grooming sessions to playful antics, gaining a deeper understanding of these incredible primates and their complex social structures.

During your safari, journey to the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for a unique gorilla habituation experience. Trek through dense vegetation alongside experienced trackers and researchers as you observe and document the behavior of a gorilla family undergoing habituation. Spend hours in the presence of these magnificent creatures, witnessing their interactions and gaining insights into their ecology and conservation.

As your unforgettable adventure comes to an end, you will depart with a profound appreciation for Uganda’s rich biodiversity and the conservation efforts dedicated to protecting its iconic primates for generations to come.

Mountain Gorillas’ Habituation Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Mountain gorillas are wild animals and, as such, sightings cannot be guaranteed. However, for the last 15 years, no one has trekked the gorillas and failed to see them in Uganda. Certainly, you won’t be the one with bad luck! On the trek, once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed an hour with the gorillas, and you can only go not more than 6 meters from them.  As the gorilla tracking can sometimes take a full day, you will need to go with your packed lunch and lots of drinking water when trekking to the gorillas.

Gorilla trekking timings and conditions vary tremendously as the gorillas move continuously through the rainforest. It is good to be prepared and remember that the weather can change with very little warning. The terrain is often steep and through areas where there are no marked paths.

Chimpanzees Habituation Experience in Kibale Forest National Park

Once this tropical rainforest provided a (very substantial) dinner, bed, and breakfast for large herds of migrating forest elephants and, even now, the park contains the largest population of this subspecies in Uganda. Although they’re rarely seen and dangerous, the signs of these elephants’ presence are abundant.

However, Kibale’s claim to fame is its enormous variety of primates and its families of habituated chimpanzees – it’s home to an astonishing 12 species of primate and provides one of the highest primate densities in the world. Here, on a daytime or evening guided forest walk, you may find families of chimpanzees and red colobus monkeys chattering and swinging through the ancient forest trees. The sightings of birds in the forest are no less impressive – there are at least 325 species, many of which are found nowhere else. In addition, there are over 144 species of butterflies.

Secure Chimpanzee and Gorilla Habituation Experience Permits early

Gorilla habituation experience is the most popular foreign tourist activity in Uganda. On every single day, only 4 tourists can do the gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi. Uganda’s gorilla habituation experience is USD1500 per person and allows you 4 hours with the mountain gorillas. Chimpanzees Habituation Experience is USD300 Per Person.  This means the competition is quite high for the few gorillas’ habituation experience permits in Uganda and it becomes hard to secure gorilla habituation experience permits a few days to your Uganda gorilla habituation tour (although it is often possible with luck more so in the green season months of October, November, April and May).  It is best to have your gorilla habituation experience permit fully confirmed at least 4 months in advance.

Best Time To Visit – Uganda

The best time to visit Uganda is from June to August and December to February, which are the Dry seasons. Wildlife viewing is at its peak then. Primate walks in the forest are a big part of any safari in Uganda. The habitat of rainforests is, by default, very wet, and you can’t avoid rain completely. However, after heavy rain, the skies often open up to bright sunshine.

Is it safe to travel to Uganda?

Uganda is a safe country to visit, especially when your part of an organized game drive with private guides, as you will be with us. These tours are designed to enhance your safety and provide you with a well-guided experience. There are, of course, some places to avoid in big cities like Kampala or Entebbe. But – as with everywhere else in the world – you’ll be fine by taking some precautions. Just some examples to be on the safe side, pun intended, don’t explore the city at night without a driver or guide, keep your valuables close to you, avoid wearing prominent and visible jewelry, and leave some things like passports in the hotel safe.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale Forest National Park Plus Other Primates

Chimpanzee habituation in Kibale starts at 6:30 AM from the park headquarters. The tour guide shall ensure that you get all the assistance you need to be at the park offices in good time for the pre-habituation experience briefing and accreditation. You will then be allocated a group of rangers and chimpanzee habituation staff to accompany you to a troupe of chimpanzees specifically set aside for tourists to experience chimpanzee habituation. The chimps you go to have been receiving visitors for some time and therefore might not be so afraid when you approach, but also, they are still wild. The intent is for visitors to have a true experience of what scientists go through to make the chimpanzees safely available for standard tourism viewing.

Walking through the Kibale forest is normally not so physically straining and can be rewarding with other primates. The forest has at least 11 other primates, as well as larger mammals like elephants and buffalo. It can be 1-2 hours before you see the chimpanzees. You shall first hear them hauling and hooting in the forest canopies. The noise is unmistakable, and so the guides will follow through to its source.

When you reach the chimpanzees, the guides give further instructions for your safety, and then you can proceed to enjoy the experience. The chimpanzee habituation allows you several hours of observing the chimps during their daily activities, so they get comfortable with human presence without changing their natural behaviors. The chimps will be going on with their normal routine of hunting, patrolling, playing, fighting, copulating, breastfeeding their baby chimps, and several other engagements as you take your notes and photographs.

After several hours of watching them, the chimpanzee habituation experience will end with the soft trek back to the park office. Here you will be awarded tracking certificates before your driver transfers you back to the lodge/ camp for overnight and dinner.
