Day 2: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park with a Stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary For Rhino Tracking

Early in the morning, the driver will pick you up from your hotel and brief you before heading out to Murchison Falls, which is in the northern part of Uganda. Along the way, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola, where rhinos are being reintroduced to the wild in Uganda. This will help you have a complete feel of the African Big Five mammals, as it is the rhinos, out of the Big Five, that are missing in Murchison Falls National Park. You will go for a trek around the sanctuary on foot. You will have lunch at the sanctuary and some relaxation for an indefinite short time. You will then embark on an exciting road trip to Murchison Falls, arriving in the evening. After checking in at the lodge, your safari guide will lead you on the game drive in Murchison Falls National Park in search of nocturnal and night animals like lions, hyenas, and leopards, among others. Afterwards, proceed back to the lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Early Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise – Hike To The Top Of The Falls – Optional Night Game Drive

Wake up for an early morning breakfast, and prepare yourself for another exciting encounter. Day 3 of your 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour: Rhino, Gorillas & Chimps Trekking Holiday starts with an early morning game drive through different trails of the park, like the Albert Trail, Buligi Trail, and the Victoria Trail. Here, you will meet eye to eye with different mammal species like buffalo, elephants, lions, leopards, bushbuck, and giraffes, among others, and return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch.

Later in the afternoon, embark on an afternoon boat cruise upstream to the bottom of the falls, while on the cruise, you will see the Nile crocodiles resting on the shores, herds of hippos while in water, bird species like the black bee-eater, grey crowned crane, marabou stork, and many others. After the cruise, you will then hike to the Top of the falls, where you will witness the strength of the magnificent Murchison Falls as it roars and pours itself out through a narrow 8m gorge. While here, you will enjoy the soft splashes as they feel like little drizzles falling on your face from heaven. You will then return to your lodge for relaxation as you await your dinner and overnight.

You can have the Option for a Night Game Drive: which comes at an Extra Cost of $100 per person. This drive is done with an armed ranger guide and also spotlight torches, which will enable you to spot the predators as they hunt like hyenas, leopards, lions, bush babies, and hippos, among others.

Day 4: Travel from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park with Bigodi Wetland and Community Visit

After your heavy morning breakfast on day 4 of your 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour: Rhino, Gorillas & Chimps Trekking Holiday, you will drive to Kibale National Park, which is located in the Western region of Uganda in Kabarole district. This drive will take about 5 hours, and it will offer you magnificent scenic views of Uganda’s landscape as you drive to the park. Enroute to your destination, you will have a lunch stopover in Fort Portal Tourism City.

Then you will proceed to the park’s Bigodi wetland for a swamp walk, and during this walk you will spot some butterfly species and birds like the Black-crowned Waxbill, White-spotted Flufftail, White-breasted Negrofinch, Yellow-spotted Barbet, Black Bishop, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Yellow-billed Barbet, Brown-crowned Tchagra, Black & white Shrike-flycatcher, Western Nicator, Superb Sunbird, among others. You will then proceed for a community walk where you will see and taste the Gins brewed from bananas, craft making, and coffee processing, and then you will return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking Experience and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your adventure begins today with an early breakfast, preparing you for an exhilarating day of chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. Kibale Forest National Park is renowned for its high density of primates, including the largest population of chimpanzees in Uganda. You will join a group of trekkers and an experienced guide who will lead you into the dense forest. As you trek through the undergrowth, keep your eyes and ears open for the signs of the playful and vocal chimpanzees. Encountering these primates in their natural habitat is an awe-inspiring experience. You will observe them swinging from trees, grooming each other, and playing on the forest floor. The trek typically lasts between 2-4 hours, depending on the location of the chimps. After this exhilarating experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch. You will check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most popular game reserve. You check in, and if time allows, you will go for an evening game drive.

Option: For Chimpanzee Habituation: Extra Cost of $100 Per Person: drive to the park’s tourism headquarters at Kanyanchu Visitor’s Center. Here, you’ll meet the ranger guides and researchers who will accompany you on the chimpanzee habituation experience. This immersive adventure allows you to spend 4 to 6 hours in the forest, observing the chimpanzees and learning about their behaviors and reactions to human presence. The knowledgeable guides and researchers will provide fascinating insights into the habituation process, offering a deeper understanding of these incredible primates.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Trip Safari along the Kazinga Channel - Option: Experiential Lion and Leopard Tracking

On this day, you will have game drives and boat rides on the Kazinga Channel. Early in the morning, you will go with a ranger on a game drive through the park, with magnificent views of the plains, valleys, terraced hills, and wild animals. You’ll spot animals like reedbuck, bushbucks, kobs, warthogs, elephants, lions, buffalo, and so much more. Have a break and relax as you eat lunch served at the lodge.

After a great time in the jungle, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch, and later in the afternoon, proceed for another ultimate experience on the Kazinga channel while cruising.  While on the cruise, you will view the herds of hippos taking in water, elephants drinking water on the banks of the Kazinga channel, Nile crocodiles resting in the shade at the shores, and also various bird species like the martial eagle, grey crowned crane, African green pigeon, and handsome francolin, among other bird species. We shall return to the lodge for dinner as well as an overnight stay.

You can also opt for an Experiential Lion and Leopard Tracking Experience in the Northern sector of the park, “Kasenyi plains,” which goes for an Extra $250 per person. while here, you will have an opportunity to drive off track while tracing a pride of lions and the leopards of the park. This Experience takes you beyond the usual game drive since you get to learn about their population, behavior, lifestyle, and also any other information concerning them. Experiential Lion and Leopard Tracking is done with Researchers who drive around the park with radiation trackers, which help them to find lions that have radio collars around their necks. Trackers can drive off trucks to find the predators whenever the signals are directed.

Day 7: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via Ishasha Sector for Tree Climbing Lions

Today you will begin with a hot breakfast, and then you will check out of your accommodation to proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, which is located south of Queen Elizabeth National Park. and it will take about 5 hours to reach the Northern sector of Buhoma. During your journey out of Queen Elizabeth, you will drive through Ishasha sector to search for the tree climbing lions which are usually resting on the branches of trees and other wildlife like Topis, Aardvark, lions, elephants, monkeys, Uganda kobs, Hippos, leopards, water buck among others which are found in this sector of the park, you will have a lunch stopover in Kihihi and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for dinner and an overnight.

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla Trekking Expereince, return and stay at leisure – Recovering

You’ll embark on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, immersing yourself in the enchanting world of mountain gorillas. Accompanied by knowledgeable guides and trackers, you’ll journey deep into the heart of the forest in search of these gentle giants. As you trek through dense vegetation and rugged terrain, the anticipation builds until you finally encounter a gorilla family in their natural habitat. You’ll witness these magnificent creatures up close and observe their social interactions and behaviors.

After the exhilaration of gorilla trekking, you’ll return to your lodge for a well-deserved relaxation. Day 9: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park and Enjoy an Afternoon (Evening to Night) Game Drive in the Park

Upon waking up, you will have an early morning breakfast as you start your day 9 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour: Rhino, Gorillas & Chimps Trekking Holiday. you will have breakfast and then check out of your accommodation. You will leave Lake Bunyonyi and travel to Lake Mburo National Park, which is located in the western part of Uganda. The drive will take approximately 4-5 hours. It is one of Uganda’s smallest but most beautiful national parks. Lake Mburo is famous for having the largest population of Zebras and Impalas in Uganda. It is made of seasonal swamps, woody Savannah grassland that is dominated by acacia, and Lakes.

Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge, have lunch, and relax as you prepare for the night Game drive. Later in the evening, prepare and move out for the night game drive. Night Game drives in Lake Mburo National Park in Uganda are ideal for you. Notably known as the only park where you can spot an exceptional number of impalas compared to any of the other Savannah parks. These game drives will also give you a wonderful experience for extraordinary sightseeing and viewing of diverse wildlife species. Through a network of game tracks, tourists are able to see animals ranging from Zebras, Impalas, giraffes, warthogs, buffalo, and hyenas. Waterbucks, elands, oribi, hippos, crocodiles, reedbuck, and many others. Then, after, you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park - Morning Walking Safari in the Park, return to Entebbe to catch the flight

Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning park (bush) walk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guide. On this early morning guided walk, you will have the opportunity to encounter (at close range): Zebras, Giraffes, Eland, Topi, and other antelope, Cape buffaloes, among others. After this up-close encounter with wildlife, return to the accommodation for checkout and then hit the road to Entebbe airport to catch a flight (1800hrs or later). Expect a stop at the Equator crossing mark (in Kayabwe), where you will have a photo opportunity and also (if interested) buy some souvenirs.
